✨ This is a written reading I recently did for an individual who is new to astrology. This individual as a triple Venus big three ( Libra Rising, Libra Moon, Taurus Sun), with Venus in Taurus on top of that. They also have a Cancer Midheaven. It is an overview of their entire chart, zeroing in on the aspects and placements that caught my eye in particular.
__________________________________________________
Ok so you are primarily the cardinal modality and primarily the earth element.
Cardinal = starter, initiator, beginnings, charging forward (in general this is the modality you operate in)
Earth = sensual, grounded, stubborn, you like your way and what you are used to
Your big three:
Taurus sun (earth, fixed)
Libra Rising (air, cardinal)
Libra moon (air, cardinal)
Personal Planets:
Mercury – aries (fire, cardinal)
Mars – aries (fire, cardinal)
Venus – taurus (earth, fixed)
Social Planets:
Saturn – pisces (water, mutable)
Jupiter – scorpio (water, fixed)
Generational Planets:
Uranus – capricorn (earth, cardinal)
Neptune – capricorn (earth, cardinal)
Pluto – scorpio (water, fixed)
Angles:
Ascendant/Descendant – Libra/Aries
Midheaven/Imum Coeli – Cancer/capricorn
Because you have a Libra rising, that means your ruling planet is Venus because Venus rules Libra.
Interestingly, Venus also rules Taurus. This means that not only is Venus your chart ruler, it also rules all of your big three placements.
Venus being the chart ruler indicates that the general theme of your life is Venusian. (Which makes it hilarious to me that the building you live in is called Venus).
Venus is all about pleasure, delight, connecting, it can be about sex but more-so it’s about *pleasure*. About doing things because you LOVE them. It’s about bringing harmony and beauty into being. Taurus (an earth sign) is more focused on the physical and material aspects of this. Libra (an air sign) is more focused on the human and social aspects of this. (Libra likes connecting people, taurus likes yummy food lol. That’s a huge over simplification but I digress)
Next, you have Mercury and mars in Aries. Aries is a fire sign. Mercury is the planet of communication, invention, mental capacities. Mars is the planet of drive, passion, anger. It is ruled by aries, so your mars is in its natural habitat. Mars and Aries are often associated with sex because they are connected to passion and drive. So your sex drive and sense of forward momentum are quite healthy and easy for you to express.
Your Mercury, although it’s in a different sign from your sun, is sitting right next to it. This is called a Cazimi.
Everyone I know who has mercury conjunct their sun is a big social butterfly. Or they are at least very charming and chatty on the surface. It’s actually crazy how true this is across all the people I know.
You have mercury in Aries conjunct your sun in taurus. (It is within 6 degrees, a loose conjunction but a conjunction none the less).
Mercury in aries is a blunt communicator. This means a Fast and intense communication style. It could be easy for you to get into spats, but also easy for you to express yourself quickly. Your taurus sun likely subdues this a little bit. On the other hand your aries mercury probably livens up your taurus sun.
Your mercury sun conjunction is in the 7th house, the house of “other people”. Pop astrology usually refers to it as the house of relationships. This indicates a strong focus of your mental and energetic capacities on the other people in your life. Relationships are really important and interesting and exciting to you.
The ruling planet of your chart, Venus, is in Taurus. It is far enough away from your sun sign that it is not in a conjunction.
Your Venus in taurus is conjunct your south node, your soul’s comfort zone. South node in Taurus in the 8th house can indicate that you are familiar with complex situations and complicated relationships. The 8th house rules things we do not control, and is often associated with things like death and sex. These topics could be challenging but also something you are very familiar with.
Venus here (next to your south node) emphasizes the involvement of relationships as well as your relationship to material wealth. Your chart ruler here tells me that this is one of the main topics you’ll work on during your life. You will be focused on Developing a good relationship with dependence/interdependence. It will also involve the sharing and possession of resources, and the things in life you cannot control or predict.
*It’s interesting that your chart ruler is by your south node because usually the south node is something that people need to focus less. The south node is something people tend to rely too much on. It becomes a comfort zone that can easily become a rut of familiarity. But for you it seems like there’s something important to address there. It could also indicate that for you it is especially easy to stay in that comfort zone rather than moving toward the north node. (In scorpio in the 2nd house).
North node in scorpio in the second house indicates that learning to take control of your own material well-being is important for you. Added to that you have Pluto, the ruler of scorpio right next to your north node. This adds to the potent and magnetic pull towards this part of your chart. It is important (though potentially uncomfortable) for you to take control of your finances, and understand the ins and outs of them in a way that may almost seem obsessive.
(Quick note here, often the themes of the nodes don’t fully come into play until around age 40)
Your Midheaven is in Cancer, therefore your Imum Coeli (loosely translated to bottom of the sky) is in Capricorn.
The Midheaven (aka the medium coeli loosely translated to “middle of the sky”) is up at the top of your chart. It represents the part of you that is visible to the public, your relationship to authority and the professional world. It’s also a representation of your potential to contribute something meaningful to the world.
The energy of the sign of cancer is what you are growing towards and represents your potential to contribute to the world. Cancer is the “mom” stereotype. It wants to nurture people, it wants to feel all of its emotions. It wants to take all of its favourite people in its arms and build a home for them. Cancer wants its people around all the time. It wants to make sure they feel heard and safe and seen. Generally, cancer also prefers privacy, so being up at the top of the chart in the public eye is not Cancer’s favourite place to be. People with cancer mc very often feel quite uncomfortable exposing themselves on social media, and even feel conflicted about the whole idea of a public or professional role in general.
When I talk about the midheaven I always talk about it in the context of its axis because they are inherently linked. If your Midheaven (MC) is the public part of your chart, your Imum Coeli (IC) is the private part of your chart. The roots of your tree are planted in the sign of your IC. The MC is what you’re growing toward.
Your IC is in Capricorn. Your roots are planted in a structured, potentially controlled environment. For you this comes with a caveat because right next to it you have Uranus (the planet of chaos) and Neptune (the planet of delusion confusion and fantasy).
So there was some kind of weird combination of boundaries with lack of boundaries in your childhood/early life. Because this is what you grew up with, it is what you will default to when you don’t intentionally try otherwise.
People with a Libra Rising automatically have an interesting chart. This is because everything is flipped from its natural home. Aries is the opposite of Libra, and Aries is the natural inhabitant of the first house. Cancer, the sign that prefers to stay in private at the bottom of the chart, is hoisted to the very top and most public spot in this configuration. Understandably this can cause some discomfort for these individuals. People with a Libra Rising often speak of a similar frustration when it comes to showing up in the public eye. I think a lot of this frustration comes from the stereotypes of a Cancer Midheaven. People tend to immediately think “stay at home mom” or “nurse” or “daycare worker”. While there is a reason for the stereotype, it is a huge over simplification of what Cancer Midheavens have the potential to do. I’ve done a lot of videos on Cancer Midheaven and am sure I will write a blog post specifically about this at some point. For now if you have a Cancer Midheaven, just know that it’s not about the specific job you do, but rather about bringing the best parts of the Cancerian energy to that job.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found it enlightening and/or helpful.
